An Announcement

So it's been a difficult day in the China adoption community... while we slept, China released new rules for international adoptions and MANY families who would like to adopt from China will no longer be able to. I understand the idea and theory behind the rules, but I think they will definitely hurt more children than they will help... as in children who are older and have more complicated medical or special needs will not have families come for them. More of them will not be adopted under these new rules.
Actually WE would not qualify to adopt from China since we have 6 kids at home (previously there was no limit on family size.) So this morning, I was feeling ill. I was thinking that I made this video for nothing. That we had not acted soon enough... that we were going to be heartbroken and a little boy in an orphanage in southern China would never know that he had a family praying for him and wishing for him and preparing their hearts for him....  He would never know.
But God.... God knew. And when Fred and I wrote our Letter of Intent over our beach vacation and then I made this video before we left for D.C., God knew what would happen. He knew I would get a call from our agency while touring the Capitol today... and that they would tell me that we indeed DID receive Pre-Approval from China. The day they released the new rules that would exclude us. If we had waited.. if we had kept questioning God's will for us, we would have been denied. When God calls you to go... GO, just GO.
