Baby-Steps into Blogging

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog!

So when we first started thinking about adoption, I noticed that almost everyone who had gone through this journey of adoption had started a blog. Well, since EVERYONE else is doing it, I will, too. Peer pressure is wonderful:)

So here we go!

For those of you who don't know us so well... We are a family of 5, soon to be 6! We felt the call to adoption in November of 2012. After much research, discussion, and of course prayer, we decided to go for it. We have such a great support group of people who have been through this or are going through it with us. We feel very blessed to be on this journey and see where life will lead us.

01/24/13- 1st home study visit

02/04/13- Received our first referral (special focus)

02/08/13- Accepted the referral!!

02/08/13- 2nd and final home study visit

02/13/13- Home study submitted to agency for review

02/18/13- LOI (Letter of Intent) to China

02/21/13- PA (Pre-Approval)

03/08/13- Home Study Approved and I800a Application sent to USCIS

03/12/13 - USCIS received our I-800a

03/25/13 - We received our appointment letter for fingerprinting

03/26/13 - Walked in for fingerprints

03/29/13 - Dossier, except 797, dropped off at CCAI

04/15/13 - I800a Approval Issued by USCIS

04/30/13 - 797 dropped off at CCAI, Dossier complete!

05/10/13 - DTC! (Dossier to China)

05/15/13 - LID (Log-In Date!)

08/02/13 - LOA (Letter of Acceptance)

08/22/13- I800 Approval

08/28/13- PDF letter from NVC

09/19/13- Travel Approval

Travelled to China on 10/8/13. Gotcha Day was 10/14! Came home on 10/26.

Joshua's Adoption

02/04/14- Decided to adopt, sent LOI to agency

02/07/14- LOI sent to China, Orientation with CCAI

02/12/14- PA (Pre-Approval)

02/19/14- Home study visit

03/04/14- Home study submitted to agency for review

03/17/14 - Supp 3 receipt date

03/20/14 - Home study sent to USCIS

03/26/14 - Supp 3 Approval from USCIS

04/03/14 - Dossier to CCAI

04/11/14 - DTC

04/28/14 - LOA issued
