Blogging brings good fortune

Okay y'all, so the day after I start my blog, we get MORE exciting news?!? Oh yes, we received notification from our agency that we have Pre Approval (PA) for Sam from the Chinese government! Yay!!

We had just sent in out Letter of Intent (LOI) on Monday, and we weren't expecting to receive PA for another week or so. What a great surprise!

So what does this mean?? Well, it won't change our time table (expect to travel in October to pick him up), but now we can post pictures of him! 

Here is Samuel Frederick Dri, a.k.a. "Sam."  This is the first picture we saw of him. We feel in love instantly. 

It felt like we were looking at our son! Fred said, "He looks familiar." 

We didn't expect that call after dinner Monday Feb. 4th, but once we received his file, we were so thrilled and overjoyed! 

He was born with a heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. He had surgery to repair it last summer, and everything went well. He is doing great!

Baby-Steps into Blogging

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog!

So when we first started thinking about adoption, I noticed that almost everyone who had gone through this journey of adoption had started a blog. Well, since EVERYONE else is doing it, I will, too. Peer pressure is wonderful:)

So here we go! 

For those of you who don't know us so well... We are a family of 5, soon to be 6! We felt the call to adoption in November of 2012. After much research, discussion, and of course prayer, we decided to go for it. We have such a great support group of people who have been through this or are going through it with us. We feel very blessed to be on this journey and see where life will lead us.
